Jubilee Square: Leicester’s “new” piazza with 2,000 years of history beneath your feet. What’s now a modern open space was once a busy car park and bus terminus. Dig a little deeper and you’ll find the Roman city of Ratae Corieltauvorum — streets, shops and the main Fosse Way running right under the paving. Created in 2014 to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, the square now links Leicester Cathedral, the Richard III Visitor Centre and the medieval old town with the modern city centre. I
