Vice Media, which was once valued at $5.7 billion, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. In a statement released Monday, the company said that it has agreed to sell its assets to a group of lenders for $225 million. Monday’s filing comes amid a wave of media layoffs and closures, including job cuts at Gannett, NPR, the Washington Post and more over the recent months.
